Eugene shuffled in with the crowd for the yearly 'Returning Students' meeting. The cliques started congregating as soon as they entered if they did not already enter together.

More and more upperclassmen were pouring in, filling the room with bodies. Eugene started to sweat and fidget. The large crowd of people cause him to feel uneasy. The sea of animal ears and wings made things look like a zoo.

There was one spot he found a bit of peace. The ledge of the window that looked out at the ocean. Eugene took his spot there, keeping his distance from everyone. He stared outside, watching the fading sunlight dance.

He hoped this would be over quickly so he could just go to his dorm and get used to another new roommate. Despite this being his second year here, there was no one Eugene could recognize in the crowd.

Eugene remains as anti-social as ever during group gatherings.
